Saturday, May 7
Today we went to Machu Picchu. We got up a little after 3 am to catch our
van to the train station, followed by a train to the foothills of Machu Picchu
and then a bus up the mountain to the actual site. We got to the site at about 9:30 am, and it
was absolutely beautiful! We were blown
away by the beauty of the location (I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves)
and the engineering genius of the Incas that built the city. We also enjoyed the llamas that are the
gardeners of the city.
We took a tour and hiked around for several
hours. We also had the opportunity to
talk to and pray with a few couples that we met. Upon our arrival back at the church at 1 am the
next morning, we were all exhausted but very content.
Sabado, 7 de Mayo
Hoy fuimos a Mach Picchu. Nos levantamos poco después de las 3 de la
mañana para empezar el viaje: un mini bus a la estación del tren, un tren al
pueblo más cercano de Machu Picchu, y un bus para subir la montaña para llegar
a las ruinas. Llegamos a las 9:30 de la
mañana, y descubrimos que Machu Picchu es muy hermoso! Nos impresionó mucho la hermosura del sitio
(mira a las fotos para verla!) y la arquitectura impresionante de los Inca que
construyeron la ciudad. También
disfrutamos de observar las llamas que son los jardineros de las ruinas.
Un guía nos llevó por las ruinas, y
después hicimos senderismo por un par de horas.
También tuvimos la oportunidad de charlar con varias personas y orar por
ellos. Al llegar a la iglesia a la 1 de
la mañana, estábamos muy cansados pero contentos.
